Offer your end users the ability to see your Privacy Center in multiple languages
Within the Control Panel you have the ability to add language choice to your Privacy Center, to better serve your end users wherever they're located.
Add multiple languages
- Login to your Dataships account via the Control Panel (here):
- Enter your e-mail address in the Email field and click Continue.
- Enter your password in the Password field and click Sign in.
- Click Privacy Center. It can be found towards the top left of the screen along the menu bar.
- By default you will be brought to the Company Profile sub-page (see sidebar on the left of the screen). Click Customise on the same sidebar.
- By default you will be brought to the Layout and Theme tab. Click the Localisation tab on the same horizontal navigation bar.
- Depending on what you would like to customize, please follow the relevant steps below.
- Find the Add New Language section on the page. Toggle on and off the languages you would like to offer your end users using the radio buttons.
By default, the language in which the Privacy Center appears will be based on the IP address of the end user.
Example: if you have enabled German as a language then end users with a German IP address will see the Privacy Centre in German. If you do not have German enabled as a language then the end user will see the Privacy Centre in your default language.
Your changes will have saved automatically and will also be reflected instantaneously in your Privacy Center. You can verify this by navigating to your live Privacy Center on your website or by generating a preview at the bottom of the page (under Choose colours for Privacy Center) by clicking Live Preview. Once on the Privacy Centre page, you can change the language by selecting the language icon on the top right navigation bar:
