When you integrate Dataships with Klaviyo, the app automatically creates two lists per channel:
- Dataships Single Opt-in List: For contacts from countries where single opt-in consent is sufficient.
- Dataships Double Opt-in List: For contacts from regions, like Germany, that require double opt-in consent.
Additionally, each profile will have a custom property in Klaviyo called Dataships Compliance Status Email if they are verified by Dataships, which identifies the contact’s marketable status. This will be labeled as either:
- Marketable
- Non-marketable
Whenever the Dataships app updates a profile, it ensures the subscribed status in Klaviyo aligns with the compliance status. For instance:
- If a contact is deemed marketable by Dataships, the app will also update the Klaviyo status to subscribed.
- If a contact opts out, Dataships will update their compliance status to non-marketable, mark them as suppressed in Klaviyo.
